James has been playing fiddle for twenty years.  He was seen for several years playing at Black Creek Pioneer Village as well as at Upper Canada Village.  His repertoire consists of Scottish, Irish and Cape Breton tunes, and he enjoys improvising along with other country, folk and blues musicians.

As part of his entertainment series for retirement and seniors extended care homes, his fiddle tunes often inspire clapping and dancing among the residents.

James currently plays in the band “Bowing the Strings” along with Mark Madigan on mandolin, and Ray House on guitar and vocals.
